The first match of Saturday’s action in the QSL will see third place El Jaish will face Al Wakrah at Lekhwiya stadium, KO at 16:45pm. El Jaish will know that if they drop any points in this match, they have essentially handed Al Rayyan the title.

Whilst Al Wakrah will look to get back to winning ways after controversially losing 3-2 to Al Gharafa, after conceding a last minute penalty back in round 19.  Al Wakrah’s Uruguayan tactician Mauricio Larriera will be hoping to secure a big victory in this match, as the Blue Waves start to pull away from the QSL relegation zone.

At the same 16:45 KO at Qatar Sports Club will take on Meisameer in a bottom of the table clash. The Kings will be eager to register their third win in a row, as they continue to battle their way out of the relegation zone. They will be counting on the form of Argentine midfielder Emiliano Vecchio who has been on fine goal scoring form for Sebastião Lazaroni’s side.

As for Meisameer, they are rooted at the bottom of the QSL standings and are twelve points away from safety. Meisameer head coach Rodian Gacanin will see this clash as an ideal way to register a moral boosting win over relegation rivals. The Flames will be looking to veteran Iranian midfielder Mohammad Nouri to rally the side and hope they can register only their second victory of the season.

Umm Salal eye top four spot in key Al Gharafa clash

Umm Salal, riding high on a two-match winning streak, will be looking to complete a hat-trick of wins on Saturday when they take on former Qatar Stars League (QSL) champions Al Gharafa.

The round 20 clash won't be just another match for fifth-placed Umm Salal who has one eye on the top-four as QSL winds down to a close in the 2015-16 seasons.

Coached by Bulent Uygun, Umm Salal has picked up key wins against Mesaimeer (2-0) and Al Sailiyah 2-0) in the space of just six days last week.

With a tally of 30 points, Uygun's side is behind QSL leaders Al Rayyan (54), Lekhwiya (37), El jaish 36 and Al Sadd (32).

Umm Salal must pick up a win - preferably with goals - on Saturday to breakaway from sixth-placed Al Arabi who also have 30 points from 19 matches.

Umm Salal coach, who saw Rami Fayez and Yannick Sagbo score during their last game against Al Sailiyah, knows his team enjoys a superior goal average against sixth-placed Al Arabi.

Rivals Al Gharafa, coached by Pedro Caixinha, seek consistency after beating Al Wakrah 3-2 with an injury-time goal through Masoud Mohammad Reza (90 + 3).

With Abdul Aziz Abdulla (48) and Krisztian Nemeth (41) also putting their names on the scoresheet, coach Caixinha will be eager to pick up points in the round 20 clash.

Eight-placed Al Gharafa, with 25 points, have looked anything but the side that won three back-to-back QSL tiles from 2007 to 2010.

Experienced campaigners Laurence Qway - who is the skipper - and Vadimir Weiss must deliver for Al Gharafa who are now languishing outside the top four of QSL.

Caixinha will also look to defender Anderson Martins as Al Gharafa seek a revival of fortune in the last seven rounds of QSL.
