Umm Salal Sports Club was founded in 1979 under the name of Al Tadamun Sports Club.
The name was changed to Umm Salal in 2004 due to the club’s location.
Nicknamed the Barzan’s Falcons and The Orange Fortress, Umm Salal made their debut in the Qatar League in the 2006-07 season. They have since been playing regularly in the First Division.
Umm Salal have remarkable achievements to their credit, the most notable being the Amir Cup triumph in 2008 and third place in the AFC Champions League in 2009.

Patrice Beaumelle
Date of Birth:24/04/1978
Frenchman Patrice Beaumelle took over the technical reins of Umm Salal, succeeding Spaniard Pablo Machin during the 2024-2025 season.
He has a number of previous coaching stints as he worked as an assistant of his compatriot Herve Renard with the Angolan national team in 2010 and Zambian national team in 2011.
Beaumelle trained Zambia after Renard’s departure in 2013 and also had a spell with Algerian club Mouloudia during the 2023-2024 season.
He has had achievements in his career and Umm Salal expect him to steer them to good performance.
