Al Sailiya 2 Al Khor 2Al Khor went head to head against Al Sailiya in round 25 of the Qatar Stars League on Saturday. The match which was played at the Al Arabi stadium ended in a 2-2 draw.
It didn’t take long for Sailiya to get one on the score sheet as Abdulrahman Al Hirazi opened the scoring for Sailiya in the fourth minute of the game. The goal came after Carlos Preciado’s curling shot came off the post into the path of Al Herazi who launched it into the back of the net.
In the thirty seventh minute Al Khor leveled the score courtesy of a headed goal by Naif Al-Buriki. Marco Antonio with the assist as his perfect cross found an unmarked Naif who scored from a free header.

Moments later in the forty first minute Faouzi Aaish restored Al Sailiyas lead with a thunderous finish. The Bahraini goal scorer received the ball in the box with a good first touch and hit the ball into the goal with a full force shot from his left foot.
Mustafa Abdelahmed conceded an own goal in the fifty eighth bringing the score line to 2-2. The midfielder was in the wrong place at the wrong time as he put the ball into his own net trying to head it out from an Al Khor corner.
The match ended with both teams sharing the spoils at 2-2. The result leaves Al Khor in 10th place with thirty points and Al Sailiya in 8th with thirty-three points from 25 QSL games, this season.

Mesaimeer grab creditable draw against Al Arabi
Mesaimeer 0-0 Al Arabi
Relegated Mesaimeer claimed only their sixth point of the season thanks to a morale-boosting goal-less draw with Al Arabi.
Rodion Gacanin’s men have endured a miserable maiden campaign in the QSL but showed plenty of spirit against the Dream Team at Grand Hamad Stadium. This performance alone shows that Mesaimeer may have the quality required to bounce straight back to the QSL next season.
It proved another disappointing result for Arabi, who have only the Emir Cup to look forward to. Their top-four hopes were extinguished weeks ago and Gianfranco Zola’s brief now is to begin a building a squad capable of a sustained challenge next season.
The first half was low on quality and low on chances but the game sprung to life in the final quarter. Mesaimeer were content to play on the break and almost took the lead when Wajdi Bouazzi played in substitute Erivelto Da Silva. The Brazilian forward looked off the pace though and shot straight at Arabi goalkeeper Masoud Zeraei from the edge of the box.
Soon after Alan Sousa had a great chance for Arabi but failed to hit the target with a left-foot volley from just a few yards out.
In the end a draw was a fair result from a game that mattered little to both sides. Despite there being one QSL round remaining, both Mesaimeer and Arabi will only have eyes on the Emir Cup.
