Round 20 of the QSL kicks off on Friday afternoon when Al Sailiya entertain Al Kharitiyat at Al Ahli stadium, K.O at 16:45. Al Sailiya will be boosted by head coach Sami Trabelsi signing a new three year deal with the side;

The Peregrines have dropped off the pace in recent weeks and have only registered two wins in the previous six QSL games. They are currently in seventh place in the QSL standings, and will be looking to Colombian striker Carlos Preciado to add to his current tally of two goals in three QSL starts.

For Al Kharaityat they will be boosted after defeating bottom club Meisameer 3-1 in round 19. Amir Osim’s side recorded a timely win, whilst also welcoming back striker Hassan Abdel-Fattah. The Thunders are currently in eleventh place in the QSL standings, and know that a win will pull them away from the QSL Relegation zone.

The other 16:45 match up will see Al Khor take on relegation threatened Al Ahli. Jean Fernandez’s side have been quietly been going about their business in the second half of the season and have pulled away from the QSL relegation zone. Whilst Al Ahli have been on a poor run of form of late, and have not registered a win in 4 QSL games.

Whilst the late 19:30 KO is the QSL match of the week tie between Al Rayyan and Lekhwiya. The two sides are first and second in the table respectively, however Rayyan has a handsome 17 point lead at the top of the table.

Jorge Fossati’s side know that a victory over rivals Lekhwiya will not only end the Red Knights title ambitions but also all but seal them their first falcon shield since 1994.
