Friday’s QSL action includes three games involving sides who are looking to establish their title credentials.
The first match of the day will see Al Sadd, fresh from their frantic 3-3 draw with Lekhiwya looking to get back to winning ways against Muaither. Bagdad Bounjah grabbed a fine brace to save his side last time out against Lekhwiya and will be hoping to get amongst the goals again.
As for Muaither they are rooted to the bottom of the table with three straight defeats in the league. Last time out, they showed plenty of promise against Al Gharafa, yet fell to a 2-1 defeat. Deadline day signing Alain Dioko looked lively on his debut and will be likely to lead the Stallions attack against Al Sadd.
At the same time, Undefeated Umm Salal take on Al Sailiya in the 17:30 K.O at Qatar SC stadium. The Orange fortress came back twice against Al Shahania last time out and have yet to taste defeat this season. Jordanian attacker Tha'er Bawab opened his account last time out, and will be hoping to add more to his early Umm Salal career.
As for Al Sailiya, they put in a gritty performance to register their first point of the season against the reigning QSL champions Al Rayyan with a 1-1 draw. The Peregrines will be without influential Bahraini attacker Faouzi Aaish who saw red last time out.
The final game on Friday will see a local derby between Al Arabi and Al Ahli. Both sides have a fierce local rivalry and will be eager to get a victory over their neighbors.
Al Arabi has enjoyed some good early season form, picking up two wins from their opening games of the season. Last time out they brushed aside a late Al Kharitiyat fightback to run out 2-1 winners. Head coach Gerardo Pelusso will be hoping Qatar international midfielder Ahmed Abdul Maqsoud will be at his ferocious best in the center of the park.
