Friday’s QSL action will see two games involving sides who are looking to improve their fortunes this term.
The early K.O will see high-flying Muaither take on Al Khor at Al Gharafa stadium. The Stallions have been on a fine run of form in the league recently, registering back to back victories against Al Wakrah and Al Arabi, Phillipe Birol will be hoping for more of the same from his side, knowing that a third straight win could haul Muaither out of the QSL relegation zone.
One player who could make an impact for Muaither is attacker Ayoub Ouadrassi. The tricky winger has returned to fitness over the international break and starred in his sides first win of the season against Al Wakrah. Ouadrassi’s pace will be crucial if the Stallions are to break down a Al Khor side who are known to be defensively strong under head coach Jean Fernandez.
As for the visitors Al Khor, they grabbed an important point, in a 2-2 draw against a Lekhwiya side that has title aspirations this season. Brazilian attacker Madson struck from the penalty spot with fifteen minutes to spare, and the diminutive playmaker will have to be at his best if Jean Fernandez’s side are to get a result from the tie.
The 18:10 KO at Al Ahli stadium will see two sides at the bottom of the table face off in what could be a early relegation six pointer.
Al Sailiya will entertain Al Kharaitiyat knowing that a win will be vital for Sami Trabelsi’s chances of steering his side away from the relegation zone. The Peregrines are expected to welcome back last season’s top scorer Faouzi Aaish back into the squad and Trabelsi will be hoping for goals from the Bahraini international.
As for Al Kharaitiyat they will be going into their first competative game under new head coach Ahmad Al Ajlani. The Tunisian tactitian was brought in to replace Amar Osim, who had a slow start to the season. Al Ajlani will be hoping to make an immediate impact for his new side, despite only training the Thunders for just over a week. D.R Congo stiker Jeremy Bokila has returned from international duty, and will be expected to lead the line against a side who has leaked plenty of goals this season.
Certainly should be an interesting pair of games to kick off the seventh round of QSL action.
