Umm Salal face Al Gharafa in Week 17 of the 2022-2023 season QNB Stars League at the Al Gharafa Stadium on Friday, March 17, 2023. The kick-off is at 17:00.
Umm Salal are placed 11th with 13 points, on goal difference with Al Rayyan (10th), and seek to maintain the distinguished level in which they appeared against Al Shamal in the postponed match from Week 10 which they won by a 1-0 margin.
It was Umm Salal’s second victory in the league this season. The Orange Fortress, under Moroccan coach Talal El Karkouri, drew seven matches and lost as many games.
Umm Salal will be more keen on victory considering their position in the danger zone.
Al Gharafa, who had lost 0-1 to Al Arabi in the postponed match from Week 10, will look to be back on the winning path in their bid to storm back into the top four.
The Cheetahs, coached by Portuguese Pedro Martins, are now sixth in the table with 23 points (six victories, five draws and as many defeats).
It may be recalled that Umm Salal and Al Gharafa had drawn their Week 16 matches, against Al Rayyan and Al Ahli respectively, both by 1-1 margin.
