Al Sadd and Al Arabi are two of the QSL’s most supported teams. Ahead of their big round 20 clash, QSL online had a look through the record books from the last five years to see which side has the upper hand in this match up.
The first leg of the 2010/2011 season saw The Dream Team gain the upper hand over their rivals with Al Arabi beating Al Sadd 2-1 with goals from Boualem Khokhi and Omar Ibrahim for Al Arabi. The second leg fixture also ended in favor of Arabi, who won 2-1 thanks to a brace from Brazilian striker Cabore.
The 2011/2012 season saw both sides winning a game each. The first match of the season belong to Al Sadd who registered a comprehensive 4-1 victory with a brace from current Arabi striker Youssef Ahmed and goals from Nadhir Belhajj and Khalfan Ibrahim, while the second leg ended in a 1-0 win for Al Arabi with midfielder Abdel Aziz Hatem scoring the only goal.
Both teams also shared a victory each in the 2012/2013 season. Al Sadd started with the win in the first leg match winning 2-0 with goals from defender Mohammed Kasola & striker Mamadou Niang. Al Arabi came back to win the second leg match emphatically 4-2 with goals from Moussa Al Baraka, Wanderely, Abdel Aziz Hatem and Boualem Khokhi.
The first leg match of the 2013/2014, Al Sadd won by two goals while the second leg ended in their first tie 1-1.
In the 2014/2015 season, both teams shared the spoils in the first leg match 1-1 with goals from Abdel Karim Hassan Sadd and Aden Ali grabbing a equalizer for Al Arabi. Al Sadd won the second leg fixture 2-1 with goals from Qatari internationals Khalfan Ibrahim and Hassan Al Haydoos.
This season, 2015/2016 the first leg match saw a pulsating 2-2 draw. Brazilain stirker Muriqui and Qatari international defender Abdel Karim Hassan scored for Sadd while a brace from Brazilian midfielder Paulinho ensured honours where even for the sides.
Since the 2010/2011 season, both sides have met in 11 occasions including the current season first leg fixture. Al Sadd won four matches, Al Arabi have also won four matches with three games ended in a draw.
