New boy Al Zakiba aiming for trophies with Rayyan

Al Rayyan summer signing Khaled Al Zakiba is looking forward to register his first victory with the side when the reigning QSL champions take on El Jaish in the QSL match of the week for round four. The former Qatar SC defender spoke with QSL online ahead of the fourth round match.



 “El Jaish are currently on top of the QSL table. They have a good squad with quality players across the pitch, similar to our team Al Rayyan, this will be a good game of football” claimed Al Zakiba when asked about the upcoming Saturday evening match.

Last time out, Al Rayyan drew 1-1 with Al Sailiya in their second consecutive draw of the season, and Al Zakiba stressed that his side will be looking to improve their recent results. “We will look for the win which is always Al Rayyan’s strategy in all matches. We will work hard to improve our results.”

Talking about the previous tie against Al Sailiya Al Zakiba noted; “Sailiya took the lead and held on well, we pushed hard for an equalizer but it didn’t work out, Al Sailiya are a good side in the league.”

 “I am happy to have joined Al Rayyan . Any player in Qatar would wish to join Al Rayyan. I hope I can aid in the clubs achievement”

Talk also turned to his personal ambitions with the club; “My aim is to battle on all fronts in Qatar for a trophy. That is always the aim of Al Rayyan, personally I hope that we can have a good campaign in the AFC Champions League.

Ending the conversation Al Zakiba had some warm words for new Al Rayyan boss Michael Laudrup; “He is a big name and already achieved success in the QSL with Lekhwiya. He is a wonderful head coach and doing a great job for the team.”
