Mesaimeer team manager Abdel Rahman Amir has confirmed that his side has benefitted from their time in the QSL. Meisameer’s relegation to the Qatar Gas League can be formally confirmed in round 21 when Meisameer take on El Jaish on Sunday the 6th of March at Al Arabi stadium. So far this season the Flames have registered only 1 win and draw in the QSL.

In an exclusive interview with QSL online he said:” This season has been tough for us. We deserved to qualify to the Qatar Stars League given that we are the only team that defeated Al Rayyan during the previous season of the Qatar Gas League.”

Amir also admitted that some of the professional players they added to the side did not deliver enough for the team; “Some of the professional players have let us down this season. We have changed two professional players during the winter transfer window and they are the Brazilian Rafael Amourim and the Helio Pinto.”

He also noted that he expected more help from other QSL sides this year. “We have expected bigger support from other QSL sides with the contracting with local players. We have requested some players but their clubs didn’t respond to us.”

Despite enduring a miserable season as the bottom side in the QSL, Amir that his side is still looking forward to playing the remaining games of the QSL season to the best of their abilities. “We won’t surrender and will play as if we are staying in QSL.”

He pointed out to the fact that there are huge difference between playing in the QSL and the Qatar Gas League, which his side can draw from.  “In general this type of experience is very beneficial and we have to take advantage of the games we have played, it will help us to get back up into the QSL.”

Commenting on the Croatian head coach Rodion and whether he will be staying with the team or not, he said: “Rodion is a very distinguished head coach and the players benefited from his work. In fact I didn’t witness such head coach in terms of dedication in work for the side. During the coming few days we will meet with him to settle some issues including the extension his contract.”
