Match Kick-off 18:00, Wed March 10th at the Thani bin Jassim Stadium.
Al Shahania coach Luka Bonačić
“The victory gave the team a lot of confidence. In the last game we won three points but we also lost a couple of key players due to injuries and cards. Such as Khalifa Al-Dosari (goalkeeper) and Mahmoud Attia. So it will be difficult for us in the next match. But we go into the next match with lots of energy, and also slightly comfortable because now Wakrah is trailing us and they have to play catch up.”
“Our objective is to stay in the QSL. But it is not a done deal yet. There are six steps left. But we are in a much better situation than before. Also Wakrah have a game against Lekhwiya. So that's a good scenario for us to be able to increase the gap on Wakrah in the table.”
“If we get a draw, we will take it. Gharafa are a good team right now. But we believe we have the ability to play well against them. Nobody believed in us before. But we have done okay so far. We have our plan to play against Gharafa. I hope my team plays with confidence and produces less individual mistakes.”
Al Shahania player Khalid Abdullah
“We are coming from a good victory against Umm Salal. Gharafa is a good team and we will have to put in a good performance to win. They are not an easy team to play against.”
“Gharafa are the favorites for this game. But if you look at statistics, they also concede goals. So we have a chance.”
Al Gharafa coach Marcos Paquetá
“It will be a tough game against a good opponent because they are doing better game by game; they have won the last game. This week is a testing one because we are playing two games within a very short period. After the last game we have had some injury problems. Our staff is working hard to get players fit and ready for this game. We need to put in a good performance in this match too and stay in the running for the fourth spot.”
“I am not relaxed. A coach can never be relaxed. At this point I cannot think of the entire season. Especially this season because we have had to make many changes. Our current target is to get into the top 4 and we are working towards it. But Gharafa is bigger than that. When we get the confidence and players believe in themselves, they can do much more. And yes, it would be nice to win the Emir Cup.”
“Aziz our goalkeeper will miss the match because of an injury.”
