Al Wakrah coach Ali Rahma Al Marri spoke to the media ahead of their 2024-2025 season Ooredoo Stars League Week 7 match against Qatar SC.
“This match comes after an international break and therefore the teams do not have the rhythm of the matches, and we specifically had a number of international players with their national teams, and it is very natural for the players to be affected physically, but this does not prevent us from being fully prepared to play this match in search of achieving victory.
“Qatar SC have appeared well in the past period and confirmed that they are a strong and fierce team, and therefore this match will be difficult, especially since each team will seek to collect all points.
“We underwent normal training during the past period and tried to maintain the team’s rhythm, and we also tried to take advantage of the match we played in the QSL Cup to confirm the team’s readiness to resume the league, said Al Marri.
Al Wakrah player Khaled Mohammed said, “The atmosphere inside Al Wakrah is excellent and I quickly adapted to the team in view of my prior knowledge of most of the players, in addition to the role played by coach Ali Rahma Al Marri in helping me integrate quickly with the team.
“We have a difficult match ahead of us against Qatar SC and we are looking for the three points and maintaining the winning streak. The truth is that Qatar SC have great players and we are focusing on our team, especially since we achieved victory in the last two matches in the league, in addition to that in the QSL Cup.
“We will try to maintain the winning streak because this gives us additional incentives to continue working in the best possible way so that we can win one or more championships during this difficult season.”
