Qatar SC coach Helio Sousa spoke to the media ahead of their 2023-2024 season Expo Stars League Week 12 match against Al Gharafa.

“We performed well in our last match against Al Duhail, but were not successful in achieving victory, and despite our control over the course of the match and creating many opportunities, the match ended in a draw. And I am happy with the performance that the team presented and the positive aspects that were achieved, and we hope that we will achieve victory in the next match.

“We now have a task that requires continuing the good work in order to maintain our level and show the good image that reflects our development, and we must take advantage of the opportunities that are available to us on the offensive side and be able to score them. We must also strengthen our collective work with increased defensive strength, so that we do not concede goals, especially since the competing teams try to exploit the opportunities and rely on counter-attacks, and we must avoid mistakes.

“Our preparations do not differ from one match to another. Rather, we work continuously to develop ourselves before every match we play and we always try to focus on the positive aspects. We know that our match against Al Gharafa will be strong, as evidenced by the fact that the first leg match ended in a draw with four goals for each team, but we are in this game. We are seeking to achieve a positive result, especially since this match precedes the league’s break,” said Sousa.

Qatar SC player Abdullah Al Muftah said, “Facing Al Gharafa will not be easy, but I am confident in our ability to come up with the positive result.

“Qatar SC are developing greatly and the collective performance is one of the most important reasons that led to improved results despite the presence of some injuries, but in general we are satisfied with the results in the last matches, as we achieved a win and a draw in the last two matches and we hope to continue the positive results in the upcoming matches.

“We will play against a big team, Al Gharafa, who are competing strongly and we know that the match will not be easy, but we will work to give off our best in order to achieve victory and come out with a positive result.”
