Al Duhail assistant coach Thierry Claude spoke to the media ahead of their 2023-2024 season Expo Stars League postponed match from Week 6 against Al Wakrah.
“Everyone was affected by the recent loss to Al Sadd, but without stopping we began preparations for our next match against Al Wakrah in order to prepare for this important game that we will enter in order to achieve a positive result.
“The team is capable of overcoming all the circumstances it faces, even though we will face one of the distinguished teams in the league championship, but we have the determination to improve the results and we want the next match to be our real start.
“Losing always has a negative impact in football and we are trying to overcome this matter, correct the mistakes that have appeared and rehabilitate our players psychologically in order to enter the field in the next match. We are at the top of our focus. Our training continues seriously to regain the performance we showed in our match against Persepolis, in which we achieved victory, but after that we retreated and lost a number of points locally,” said Thierry.
Al Duhail player Suhaib Gannan said, “We have overcome our loss against Al Sadd in the last match and we are going through our training with all seriousness in order to reach the peak of physical, technical and psychological readiness before our match against Al Wakrah to which we will enter in order to achieve victory.
“We must be fully focused during the upcoming matches in order to get the team to its normal place and avoid the mistakes that appeared in previous matches.
“Our victory over Al Wakrah on Sunday is very important for us because it will put us back in the top four and we will be closer to third place. Certainly, this will be an important incentive for us.”
