Al Shamal coach Wesam Rizik spoke to the media ahead of their 2022-2023 season QNB Stars League Week 18 match against Al Ahli.

“We are happy with the return of the league after a break, during which we prepared the team in the best way for the important match against Al Ahli.

“It was a great opportunity for the injured players to recover. We were suffering from many absences due to injuries, but the break was a good time for them. Therefore, the squad will be full in the Al Ahli match.

“We realize that facing Al Ahli will not be easy in view of the competitor’s strength and ambition to obtain the best possible position in the league table. We will play for victory and collect the three points, and I believe that focus will be our greatest weapon in this difficult game.

“We will play all the upcoming matches as cup finals. I trust our players and the extent of their awareness and their responsibility,” said Wesam.

Al Shamal goalkeeper Hassan Idriss said, “A difficult game awaits us against Al Ahli, but at the same time we ready for the meeting, and our goal is to win and collect the three points in order to improve our ranking and move away from the danger zone.

“Our players are fully prepared for the Al Ahli match and we seek to collect the three points. We hope that success will be with us in this game, which will not be easy at all.”
