Al Sadd coach Juan Manuel Lillo ‘Juanma’ spoke to the media ahead of their 2022-2023 season QNB Stars League Week 8 match against Qatar SC.

“We know that the next match will be difficult, as the opposing team is in the leading positions with all due merit and because of their excellent style of play and the possession of players who make the difference.

“Al Ahli’s loss has become a thing of the past, and we do not expect it to affect the team's performance. It was a unique match. We were able to create many chances, but unfortunately we were not able to turn them into goals.

“Since the tournament resumed after stopping, we have won all our matches except for the Al Ahli match, and we understand that things are not in our hands now, and after the recent defeat the difficulty has increased logically, but we remain aspiring to win all the remaining matches,” said Juanma.

Al Sadd player Boualem Khoukhi said, “The games will be difficult for the two teams and the competitor is in third place and we are coming from a painful loss against Al Ahli.

“The league is not over yet and our goal is to win all matches in order to collect points to continue the competition.

“We did not expect to lose against Al Ahli, who entered the match with full force. This is football and we must compensate in the next match against Qatar SC and do our best to achieve victory.”
