Qatar SC coach Youssef Safri spoke to the media ahead of their 2024-2025 season Ooredoo Stars League Week 10 match against Al Shahania.
“We have prepared well for this match through strong training during the break.
“We know that we are facing a difficult and strong match against Al Shahania team, who have great capabilities, especially in the defensive aspect as well as in terms of the experience they have. But we have prepared very well and have done a great job in order to reach the necessary readiness and we hope that we will be successful in the match.
“Regarding the absences that we suffer from and the extent of their impact on the team’s performance in the Al Shahania match, I would say we have some injuries such as Javi Martinez, Nasser Peer, Ali Awad and others, but we will rely on the rest of the players who are ready, and I have great confidence in my players and their ability to provide the required level to achieve victory.
“It is very important to focus against Al Shahania and play with a winning mentality and do the best we can while being responsible to achieve good results that will increase the team’s progress in the league.
“We have two very important matches before the end of first leg and we have to collect the largest number of points from them to confirm that we are on the right track and end the first leg in a good position. Our fans’ support is also very important,” said Saffri.
Qatar SC player Abdullah Al Muftah said, “Our match against Al Shahania will not be easy because they are a developed team, but we will do everything possible to win.
“We have to play the match with high concentration and adhere to the coach’s instructions so that the victories continue because our goal is to advance in the league standings and stay away from the last positions.
“The players are making a great effort in training and this will be clearly reflected on the level that the team will present in the upcoming matches, especially against Al Shahania.”
