Al Shamal coach Poya Asbaghi spoke to the media ahead of their 2023-2024 season Expo Stars League Week 3 match against Al Rayyan.

“We are waiting for a new strong match against a big team like Al Rayyan, who have players at the highest level and also achieved full points in the first two rounds of the league, and of course the confrontation will not be easy.

“We are looking forward to presenting a good level in the match, as was the case with the team in the past two matches. Therefore we seek to continue the journey in the upcoming matches, starting from the Al Rayyan match.

“We are capable of achieving a positive result and we will show once again that we are a team to be reckoned with, and I hope that the team will have its day during the Al Rayyan match, which will not be easy,” said Asbahgi.

Al Shamal player Omid Ebrahim said, “We will face a strong team that is one of the biggest teams in Qatar and have distinguished players and a high-level coach. They also achieved two consecutive victories in the first two rounds of the league.

“We are well aware of the strength of Al Rayyan, but Al Shamal are also a good team and we are ready for the match. We will fight to achieve a positive result.”
