Al Sailiya and Umm Salal played out a 1-1 draw in Week 14 of the 2022-2023 season QNB Stars League at the Al Ahli Stadium on Monday.

Al Sailiya took the lead through Mehrdad Mohammadi in the 32nd minute, but Adel Alawi equalized for Umm Salal in the 37th minute.

Al Sailiya and Umm Salal raised their score to eight points each and stayed in the 11th and 12th position respectively.

The match was fast-paced and both teams failed to take advantage of the easy opportunities that were made available to their attackers.

Umm Salal had the first and most dangerous opportunity in the match, in the 29th minute, from a ball initiated by Kuach Yuel, but it went abegging.

The first goal came after 32 minutes with an individual effort from Mehrdad, who beat the defenders and fired a missile from outside the area to the upper right corner of the goal to help Al Sailiya surge.

No more than five minutes passed when Umm Salal were on level terms through an attack that confused the rival defence and Adel was on target.

The performance of both sides continued in the same vein in the second half, but the players failed to capitalize on the chances.

The stalemate continued and the teams settled for a point each.
