Al Wakrah will face Umm Salal in Week 9 of the 2024-2025 season Ooredoo Stars League at the Al Janoub Stadium on Friday, November 1, 2024. The kick-off is at 7.30pm.
The two teams would go into the match eagerly seeking to return to winning path and collect the three valuable points, making for an exciting and intense game.
Both Al Wakrah and Umm Salal are equal on number of points (11). Al Wakrah occupy the sixth place in the rankings, while Umm Salal are in fifth place and both are looking to push their way into the top four again.
Al Wakrah will face Umm Salal have been preparing hard for this meeting aiming to iron out flaws and regain winning form. Al Wakrah are looking to recover from two consecutive losses – against Qatar SC and Al Sadd, and their coach Ali Rahma Al Marri is trying for his players to regain the confidence they showed earlier.
The Blue Wave rely on each of their players, notably Ayoub Assal, Hamdy Fathy, Almahdi Ali, Aissa Laidouni, Jacinto Dala and Ricardo Gomes.
Meanwhile, Umm Salal will be missing their star Kenji Gorre, who received a red card in the match against Al Khor. Their French coach Patrice Carteron will try to find a suitable alternative and will also seek to exploit Al Wakrah’s current situation and want his team to achieve victory, particularly since they have lost a number of points in recent rounds.
Carteron would be relying on Adel Al Sulaimane, Oussama Tananne, Antonio Mance and Naim Laidouni to pack a punch against Al Wakrah.
The match is expected to be strong with either sides possessing attacking stars and a fierce desire to do their best to fetch the three much-needed points.
