Al Ahli coach Nebojsa Jovovic spoke to the media ahead of their 2022-2023 season QNB Stars League Week 12 match against Umm Salal.

“Al Ahli have presented distinguished levels since the return of the league after the break but there are some negative issues that require us to address and prepare the team to ensure that no good opportunities are wasted as happened during our match against Al Markhiya in the 2-2 draw which we were winning until the last minute.

“All matches are difficult and the technical level of competition is on the rise, therefore focus will remain necessary to achieve the goal of each match. As a coach, however, I bear full responsibility for every result that the team produces in the league.

“Al Ahli will be ready for the match and will make every effort to achieve the desired result which is winning the match and advancing in the standings once again. I have full confidence in the team’s abilities to provide their best and achieve a positive result and the valuable three points.

“The Umm Salal match will be different and the players are aware of its importance and difficulty. The strength of the opponents will make them more keen on a good performance and focus,” said Nebojsa.

Al Ahli player Ali Qaderi said, “Al Ahli players will aim to benefit from the negatives that creeped up against Al Markhiya in the last round. The players know the mistakes they made in the previous match and they will work to overcome them and move to the stage of collecting points in the competition.”
