Al Shamal coach Wesam Rizik spoke to the media ahead of their 2022-2023 season QNB Stars League postponed match from Week 8 against Al Wakrah on Saturday, February 25.
“Facing Al Wakrah is a new challenge for us, and of course it will not be easy against a strong team that competes and provides good levels and results this season.
“The responsibility is great for us as technical staff and players to change the image in which we appeared in the past two matches at the level of the result, especially since the team’s performance was not bad, but we missed success in the two matches after we wasted many opportunities. Therefore, we hope that the situation will change in the next match, which will be very difficult.
“I think that the small details will decide the Al Wakrah match and I hope that we are ready and the players are at the top of their focus from the beginning of the match until its end,” said Wesam.
Al Shamal player Abdulaziz Metwaly said, “At first, I thank the players and the coaching staff for what they presented in the previous two matches against Al Arabi and Al Gharafa, and I believe that we did not deserve to lose in these two matches in view of the good level presented by the team.
“We are determined to achieve a positive result in the Al Wakrah match, which will be difficult, but with everyone’s efforts, I see we will be able to overcome the current difficult stage and return to the path of victories.”
