Umm Salal face Al Markhiya in a postponed match from Week 8 of the 2022-2023 season QNB Stars League. The kick-off is at 16:45 at the Al Duhail Stadium on Saturday, February 25, 2023.

Umm Salal were held to draws in the past two rounds after suffering many defeats, so they will be keen to make a turnaround in their fortunes under new coach Talal El Karkouri who succeeded Wesam Rizik, the new coach of Al Shamal.

Umm Salal achieved only one victory this season and it was at the expense of Al Sailiya in Week 4. The Orange Fortress lost six matches and drew as many games to be placed at the bottom of the standings with nine points, on goal difference from Al Sailiya.

On the other hand, the match is no less important for Al Markhiya, who are coming off two consecutive losses, against Al Duhail and Al Arabi.

The Oryxes, under the tutelage of Qatari coach Abdullah Mubarak, have three victories to their credit and are placed eighth with 12 points. They drew three matches and lost six.

Both teams are capable of pulling off surprise and have players of calibre, so the match is sure to be exciting.
