Al Shamal face Al Wakrah in a postponed match from Week 8 of the 2022-2023 season QNB Stars League. The kick-off is at 19:30 at the Al Sadd Stadium on Saturday, February 25, 2023.

Both teams had dropped points in the last round (Week 15), so they will be more eager to collect points.

Al Shamal are coming off a 2-3 loss to Al Gharafa and placed 10th with 10 points.

New coach Wesam Rizik will look to help Al Shamal make a turnaround in their fortunes and stay away from the danger zone.

Al Shamal have registered three wins, one draw and eight defeats.

Wesam will have at his disposal players, such as Mohammed Al Sayed, Majed Mohammed, Ali Olwan and Rabeh Yahya among others.

Al Wakrah were held to a goalless draw by Umm Salal in the last round and are placed seventh with 19 points.

The Blue Wave, under Spaniard Marquez Lopez, have five victories under their belt. They drew four matches and lost as many games.

Al Wakrah were in the top four for long, but suffered a series of negative results after the long break. So Marquez will want his wards to go all out and regain their place among the elite teams.

They mainly have the likes of Jacinto Dala, Mohamed Benyettou and Murad Naji.
