Al Shamal and Muaither will face off in the 2023-2024 season Expo Stars League Week 15 opener at the Al Bayt Stadium on Thursday, February 29, 2024. The kick-off is at 6pm.

The two teams will go into the match strongly, seeking to score a victory given that they have only a two-point difference in the table, with Al Shamal being in 10th place with 11 points and Muaither 11th with nine points.

The difficulty however lies in the fact that each of the teams will try to overcome the other and take a step forward in moving away from the danger zone.

Al Shamal are looking to overcome a difficult (1-2) loss to Al Rayyan in the last round and will hence try hard to compensate with a positive result and move up, given the marginal difference in the points tally between them, Al Markhiya and Muaither.

Al Shamal coach Poya Asbaghi will strive for his team to win points in the match in an attempt to stay away from the relegation zone.

Meanwhile, Muaither will look forward to keeping up the momentum they gained having defeated Al Markhiya 2-0 in the last round. They not only won the much-needed points, but also got the required motivation, which now makes their clash with Al Shamal more exciting.

Muaither coach Jorge da Silva will try to gain from the good morale of his players and push them to also achieve a victory over Al Shamal.

The first-leg match between Al Shamal and Muaither had ended in a 2-2 draw.
