Qatar SC coach Youssef Safri spoke to the media ahead of their 2024-2025 season Ooredoo Stars League Week 18 match against Al Wakrah.
“The last match against Umm Salal was difficult and witnessed a great technical level, and everyone was hoping to come out with the three points, but we came out with a draw and gained one point, and we consider it positive in view of the events that took place in that match.
“The last match has been turned over and the focus is now on the next match against Al Wakrah because it will be strong. The strength of the match stems from the similarity of the circumstances and ranking of the two teams and their possession of the same number of points, which is 20 points.
“Al Wakrah are a fierce offensive team and have players capable of making a difference, not only in attack, but also in defence, and they also have a distinctive way of pressing, so we must be alert. I am confident in the ability of our players to provide the best possible and give their utmost in order to come out with a positive result.
“There is a possibility of Ahmed Abdel Kader returning to action after his absence due to injury, but in general, the team as a whole is fully prepared and there is enthusiasm, desire and seriousness among all players to play, and this is a good thing for the team,” said Safri.
Qatar SC player Ali Malallah said, “I have confidence in the ability of Qatar SC to achieve a positive result against Al Wakrah.
“Collective performance is the most important factor in our strength. Teamwork motivates us greatly to continue achieving positive results and we are confident in our ability to come out with the three points against Al Wakrah despite the strength and difficulty of the match.”
