Al Wakrah coach Poya Asbaghi spoke to the media ahead of their 2024-2025 season Ooredoo Stars League Week 18 match against Qatar SC.
“The preparations for this match were good and for a long time we have not had this long time to prepare due to the crowded schedule during the past period.
“I think this week was very good as we were able to work on our playing model in a calm manner and therefore we feel that we are fully prepared for this match.
“Qatar SC have clearly improved in the recent period after they contracted with some important players and when their ranks were complete, they had a strong team. Therefore, we know that the game will be a difficult challenge between two teams competing in the same area of the standings,” said Asbaghi.
Al Wakrah player Suhaib Gannan said, “I hope that the team would be able to take advantage of the recent victory we achieved against Al Khor in the previous round in order to continue the series of victories in the league championship, starting with the match against Qatar SC in round 18.
“Al Wakrah prepared well for this match against Qatar SC and everyone pledged to make the maximum possible efforts to overcome this obstacle and we had enough time to prepare for the match.
“I think my period in Al Wakrah was very wonderful, I was welcomed into the Al Wakrah family with open arms and I am very happy to be here, I am grateful to be part of the team.”
