Al Khor coach Mehdi Nafti spoke to the media ahead of their 2024-2025 season Ooredoo Stars League Week 17 match against Al Wakrah.

“The players must provide double effort and their best in order to achieve victory and collect the three points to keep the team’s chances of staying in the top flight next season.

“Players have to be very careful and not to take into account the result of the last Al Wakrah match, which they lost 0-4 to Al Rayyan, especially since they played with a reduced number of players for a full 90 minutes due to an early expulsion.

“Al Wakrah may not be in their best condition and we have to take advantage of this opportunity well, so we must be at the peak of focus on ourselves and know how to win the three points from this match, which may be the most important thing in the season if we want to keep our chances of staying in the top flight,” said Mehdi Nafti.

Al Khor striker Ricardo Gomes said, “We must play hard to achieve victory in view of the circumstances the team is going through and its occupation of last place in the standings.

“We deal with the Al Wakrah match like all other matches, we enter with the slogan of winning, especially since we have the capabilities and our team is playing well, but the problem is that in the last two matches we were not able to translate our advantage into points. We hope that the situation will be different in this match and we achieve the victory that will change many things in the team until the end of the season.
