Al Shamal coach Nuno Almeida spoke to the media ahead of their 2024-2025 season Ooredoo Stars League Week 9 match against Al Duhail.
“A difficult match awaits us against leaders Al Duhail, one of the strongest teams this season with a group of distinguished players.
“We expect a difficult match, but at the same time we will do our utmost to provide a good performance and organized work on the field to reach the desired goal, which is to achieve a positive result.
“I have confidence in Al Shamal players and their ability to provide a good level in the Al Duhail match, and to compensate for our last match against Al Shahania in the eighth round, during which we did not appear at the usual level.
“The team’s preparations to face Al Duhail are like preparing for any match. I worked to correct the mistakes that occurred in the last match and hope that the team would be up to the mark in the upcoming match and the players would be focused from the first minute to last,” said Almeida.
Al Shamal goalkeeper Abdullah El Rady said, “We are waiting for a strong match against a big team that needs no introduction for its distinguished players. With all due respect to Al Duhail, we will play for victory and collect the three points, which is our goal in all matches we play.
“Our mission will certainly not be easy but we will do our utmost to achieve our goal, which is victory and collecting the three points and making up for the loss the team suffered against Al Shahania in the last round.”
