Al Rayyan coach Leonardo Jardim spoke to the media ahead of their 2023-2024 season Expo Stars League Week 22 match against Al Sadd.

“We will play the last match in the league championship against Al Sadd. Our goal is to obtain a qualifying position for the AFC Champions League. We congratulate Al Sadd team for winning the league title.

“The team’s motivation at the moment is to get second place. Winning the Amir Cup gives the team a direct ticket to the AFC Champions League, so we will play against Al Sadd with the aim of achieving victory and maintaining second place in the Expo Stars League standings,” said Jardim.

Al Rayyan player Rodrigo Moreno said, “We are preparing for this match as we are accustomed to in all previous matches, and our motivation in this match is to win against the best team in Qatar that won the league, which is Al Sadd. We know that the match will be difficult. This is a strong motivation for us to finish the league in second place.

“We will try to score the largest number of goals to maintain second place in the standings.. We know that they won the league, but we will not give up. We have to maintain our focus and play to achieve victory. In the last match, we performed at a great level despite the bad start, but we managed to come back and win the match.”
