Al Shamal face Al Sadd in Week 21 of the 2023-2024 season Expo Stars League at the Al Bayt Stadium on Wednesday, April 24, 2024. The kick-off is at 6.30pm.

The two teams go into the clash with different aims. Al Sadd are looking to achieve victory to seal the Expo Stars League title in the penultimate round of the championship, while Al Shamal would be seeking a positive result to continue their progress in the standings.

Al Shamal have 22 points to their credit (gained from five wins, seven draws and eight defeats, and are in eighth place in the table.

In contrast, Al Sadd are leading the standings with 46 points (coming from 14 wins, four draws and two2 losses), and hold a five-point lead ahead of Al Rayyan and Al Gharafa, second and third respectively, in the rankings.

Al Sadd had defeated Al Shamal 4-0 in the first leg.

The match on Wednesday would, however, be decisive for Al Sadd as a victory would help them claim the league title with one round remaining.

It is quite certain that Al Sadd would go all out to record their 15th league win of the season and claim their 17th league championship, while Al Shamal, guided by their coach Poya Asbaghi, would seek to put out their best and gain a positive result against the formidable opponents.
