Al Sadd coach Wesam Rizik spoke to the media ahead of his team’s postponed Week 13 match of 2023-24 season Expo Stars League against Al Ahli.

“An important match awaits us against Al Ahli and we have to strive to win. There is no alternative but to gain the three points to remain in the lead and we seek to provide a better performance than our last round match against Al Duhail.

“The clash against Al Duhail is now a thing of the past. We have worked on correcting the mistakes we made. We need to stay focused against Al Ahli and return to winning ways. We are confident of winning the league title.

“I expect the players to show fighting qualities and to bounce back from the last round's loss.

“Every team in the world is going through difficult periods and we know that we are now in the final and decisive stage to claim the title and we will work to give our best to win all the remaining matches,” said Wesam.

Al Sadd player Mohammed Waad said, “A difficult match awaits us and we must play with high concentration to score the three points to stay in the lead.

“The Al Duhail match is behind us and there is no room for being complacent. All our upcoming matches will be like a final and we will play for wins.”
