Al Ahli coach Khaled Taj spoke to the media ahead of their postponed Week 13 match of 2023-2024 season Expo Stars League against Al Sadd.
“I am no stranger to coaching Qatari clubs and I consider myself a member of the Al Ahli family. I am always at the club’s disposal and have also trained the team previously, most notably from 2012 to 2016.
“I began working with the Al Ahli team, soon on being appointed by the club management, to Al Sadd with full confidence in order to present a technical level befitting the club. I have full confidence in Al Ahli’s ability to succeed in the league and to fulfill the club’s fans' expectations with a distinguished performance.
“At the same time, facing Al Sadd would not be easy as everyone knows their strength and they have been the best team in the league so far and aiming to win the title. The match therefore will be difficult and strong but Al Ahli will make every effort to challenge one of the strongest teams in the league.
“Al Ahli players realize the responsibility and the importance of providing the best level and achieving the best results,” said Khaled Taj.
Al Ahli player Ahmed Yasser said, “The level the team showed in the last round wasn't upto the expectations and they will make more efforts to return to victories in the remaining matches.
“Al Ahli players are working hard with coach Khaled Taj in order to provide their best, especially since the league is now only a few rounds remaining and we must improve the team’s position and return it to the path of victories.”
