Umm Salal face a strong test against Al Arabi in the postponed match from Week 13 of the 2023-2024 season Expo Stars League at the Thani Bin Jassim Stadium of Al Gharafa club on Wednesday, April 17, 2024. The kick-off is at 6.30pm.
The contest is expected to be fierce, with both teams aiming for a victory to consolidate their places in the rankings. While Umm Salal are in eighth place with 21 points, Al Arabi are pushing to get into the top four currently being in fifth place with 26 points.
Umm Salal will go into the game after having a difficult 1-1 drawn result in the previous match against Al Gharafa in Week 20. The Orange Fortress want to secure their position in the table, move forward and strive to raise their tally to 24 points to stay away from the danger zone.
Umm Salal coach Patrice Carteron would want his players to keep up the drive in the clash against The Dream Team relying on top guns Oussama Tannane, Kenji Gorre, Adel Alawi, Nasser Al Nasr and Khaled Abdulraouf among others.
Al Arabi, meanwhile, are riding a crest of a wave having won the inaugural Qatar-UAE Super Cup, defeating Sharjah 1-0 last Friday following their Week 20 4-2 league win over Al Wakrah 4-2.
High on confidence, Al Arabi would look to continue their winning run against Umm Salal as well.
Guided by coach Younes Ali, Al Arabi have many leading players capable of providing the team with strong performances, prominent among those being Yousef Msakni, Omar Al Somah, Rafinha Alcantara, Marco Verratti, Hassan Alaaeldin, Ahmed Fathi, Helal Mohammed and Jassim Al Hail.
