Qatar SC coach Helio Sousa spoke to the media ahead of their 2023-2024 season Expo Stars League Week 20 match against Al Shamal.
“We have turned the chapter of the last match against Al Wakrah and are looking forward to the next match against Al Shamal, and we hope that we will succeed in achieving victory.
“We have to provide a good performance that enables us to achieve the result we seek and start the match in a strong manner similar to what we did against Al Wakrah, but the most important thing is to continue with that strong performance until the end of the match.
“We must avoid making any mistakes so that we do not concede goals and we must play with great concentration, similar to what we did against Al Markhiya when we achieved victory despite the numerical disadvantage.
“The Al Shamal match will be difficult because they are a good team, but I am confident in the ability of Qatar SC players to win and collect three points.
“We have some absences, including Abdullah Al Ahrak, who was injured with the national team and has not participated in any training yet, and the possibility of him playing is doubtful,” said Sousa.
Qatar SC player Nasir Peer said, “Facing Al Shamal will not be easy, but we are fully prepared for the match. The last Al Wakrah match was difficult and we have turned the chapter, and we must only focus on the positive things that came out of that match and those aspects should motivate us before our next match against Al Shamal.
“We, as players, have confidence in ourselves and in each other, and everyone appreciates the responsibility. We know fully well that this match is crucial and requires giving everything possible in order to achieve victory. We hope that we will succeed in achieving that.
“The players are fully aware of the importance of the match, especially since we are approaching the decisive and final stages in the league championship, so we are looking forward to victory against Al Shamal, and we are capable of that in order to move forward in the league standings and stay away from the danger zone.”
