Al Arabi coach Younes Ali spoke to the media ahead of their 2023-2024 season Expo Stars League Week 17 match against Al Sadd.
“These matches require sacrifice for the team and a willingness to outperform the opponents physically and psychologically. I am confident in the players’ ability to display these qualities in the match at the Al Thumama Stadium on Sunday.
“We respect Al Sadd, who are a big team and provide a consistent level under Wesam Rizik. Such matches are difficult and require everyone to be at the highest levels of concentration. I call on the fans to continue their support for the players because their presence gives them morale boost. It helps them get the job done.
“We are preparing well and we feel excited and confident in our ability to provide a good level and to fight to get points in the match, especially when the competitor is at the top of the standings, and these matches are not always subject to speculation. We realize the difficulty of the second leg of the league and if our goal is to achieve the best ranking possible by raising the level of concentration in all matches and showing the fighting spirit,” said Younes.
Al Arabi goalkeeper Jassim Al Hail said, “Al Sadd are a strong side are on the top of league standings performing at great levels. The match will not be easy and there will be great competition between the two teams. I hope that we will succeed in continuing to achieve good results.
“After the victory over Qatar SC in the previous round, we have to redouble our efforts and give everything we have in the upcoming matches. The preparations went off well and we prepared well for the next game. Everyone is keen to make every effort to please the fans.
