Muaither coach Jorge da Silva spoke to the media ahead of their 2023-2024 Expo Stars League Week 16 match against Al Ahli.
“We have played two matches so far since the resumption of the league championship. We achieved an important victory over Al Markhiya, and we tied last week against Al Shamal in a match in which we performed well and missed many opportunities, but I am satisfied with the point and performance in that match, and we always strive for the best and this requires great effort and work.
“Al Ahli are a difficult team and have good players. We must focus and play calmly in the match and exploit all possible opportunities, because such difficult matches are played on small details, so we will give everything we have to achieve victory. We have worked in recent days to prepare the team in the best possible way, the players. They know very well the responsibility that falls on them and the importance of the three points that move the team a step forward in the rankings.
“We work as one team, and I trust the players well. The team has distinguished players, and our goal is one, which is to achieve victory over Al Ahli, and if we do not achieve victory, at least we must avoid loss. We seek to continue achieving positive results, and we enter all the upcoming matches with a high spirit and great focus. We have one goal in front of us, which is to achieve three points, so I ask all fans to continue to support the team in all matches, and we will work hard to achieve positive results and ambitions for the club, said Da Silva.
Muaither player Hugo Gomez, said, “The match will be difficult, but it is very important that we achieve victory in order to move forward, even if it is one step.
“We enter every match as if it were a final and there is no room for losing more points. All teams are currently searching and fighting in order to achieve points, and we must play with high concentration against Al Ahli, as they are a difficult team and have distinguished players, and I trust in the abilities of my teammates to achieve victory and move forward in the rankings, and we will play.”
