Al Sadd coach Wesam Rizik spoke to the media ahead of their 2023-2024 season Expo Stars League Week 15 match against Qatar SC.

“An important match awaits us against Qatar SC. We will face them with great enthusiasm and it will not be easy. Small details will be important and we are fully prepared for it.

“The Al Wakrah match has become a thing of the past and we are facing a new challenge, and the players realize the extent of the responsibility they have. We, as technical staff, worked to correct the mistakes that occurred in the previous game in order to provide the best against Qatar SC.

“We are playing for the championship and in every match we have one motive, which is victory. We are motivated to achieve victory. We are playing to win the title and the team is fully prepared physically, technically and mentally,” said Wesam.

Al Sadd player Guillerme Torres said, “I know that it will be a very difficult match, as was the case in the first leg, because we did not play for a long time due to the break. We played a very difficult match against Al Wakrah, but now we know that facing Qatar SC will be much more difficult and, despite that, I believe we are ready to perform well.

“The team that want to be the champions must overcome all difficulties and we will certainly make every effort to obtain the three points. Of course, we wanted to win the Al Wakrah match to move further away at the top of the league, but this is part of football. We must now continue to work with focus to achieve our goals.”
