Al Wakrah assistant coach Ali Rahma Al Marri spoke to the media ahead of their 2023-2024 season Expo Stars League Week 14 match against Al Sadd.

“The matches that take place after a long break are always the most difficult, so my team is required to show the highest levels of concentration, especially since we are facing a strong competitor, Al Sadd, who always compete for all titles.

“We went through a good preparation period during the break and despite the many absences in the team due to the players’ national duties, we tried hard to make the most of it so that we could return to the league in a way that was no less than we were before the pause.

“All team members are fully prepared to play this strong match, and although we have some absences in the team, we have great confidence in the rest of the players. I hope we will be successful and secure the three points so that we remain in the competition for the top spot,” said Al Marri.

Al Wakrah player Hamdi Fathi said, “I am confident in our ability to present a strong match against Al Sadd. The element of success will play an important role in resolving this match.

“We all know how important the result of this match is in shaping the competition for the top of the league table, so we will make our utmost efforts so that we can secure all the points.

“Naturally, I am very happy with the time that I am spending in Al Wakrah, but I know that we have not achieved anything for the club yet. Therefore we have the necessary focus in order to remain in the competition for the top spot, and I personally am confident that I have a lot that I can offer the team. During the coming period, I hope that I will be successful in helping my colleagues achieve victories.”
