Al Wakrah coach Marquez Lopez spoke to the media ahead of their 2023-2024 season Expo Stars League postponed match from Week 6 against Al Duhail.

“Al Duhail are a big club at all times and although they have problems with absences and they have injuries in their ranks, and a red card, this does not prevent them from emphasizing that they have very strong players.

“We will go to this match with a winning mentality. We have two matches to finish this stage and we are focusing on the match, and I hope that we will achieve victory. We are working to continue the victories and the mentality of the players is always victory. This is very clear. If we win the match, we will rise to second place and this is excellent motivation for players to win.

“There is one case of absence, which concerns defender Mehdi Ali due to injury,” said Marquez.

Al Wakrah goalkeeper Mohammed Al Bakri said, “Everyone within the team has the necessary focus in order to appear in the best possible way.

“We are striving to achieve victory and I hope that we will succeed and be able to obtain the three points to rise to second place in the table.
