Al Sadd coach Wesam Rizik spoke to the media ahead of his team’s 2023-2024 season Expo Stars League Week 11 match (Qatar Clasico) against Al Rayyan.

“We are waiting for an important match against Al Rayyan, considered as one of the strongest matches in the league, which is the Qatar Clasico.

“The matches between Al Sadd and Al Rayyan witness competition and excitement on and off the field, and it is important for us to return to the top again. The small details between the two teams will be attended to and we are ready to give off our best in order to get the three points.

“We were hoping for a better result in the AFC Champions League, but now we will focus on domestic tournaments. We have players with a professional mentality and we take each match separately and focus now on the next game against Al Rayyan.

“We have three very strong matches in a row, against Al Rayyan, Al Duhail and Al Arabi, matches at a high level that require great work from all members of the team,” said Wesam.

Al Sadd player Pedro Miguel said, “The next match against Al Rayyan will be difficult because they are in good condition. Al Rayyan are a good team and they have a good coach, but my teammates and I are ready for the game and it is an important match for us.

“In our last match in the AFC Champions League, the result was not good for us, but now we have to forget that and focus on the next match to get the three points and play well as we did before and make our fans happy because this is the most important thing for us.

“We know it is a big match and everyone wants to watch it, and I want to urge our fans to continue supporting us so that we can get the three points.”
