Al Sadd coach Wesam Rizik spoke to the media ahead of their 2023-2024 season Expo Stars League Week 10 match against Al Shamal.

“An important match awaits us against Al Shamal, and our goal is to return to the top again. All our focus is currently on the match against Al Shamal in the league and I hope that the team will be ready and all players are fully prepared.

“The recent victory in the AFC Champions League against Sharjah FC gave us a great morale boost to continue in the same way. We are playing a match in a separate tournament and we must work as one team to achieve victory.

“The morale of the players is high and everyone within the team knows the extent of the responsibility, especially since Al Sadd have many engagements ahead of us in the next stage, both Asian and local.

“We await the support of our fans during the next stage. They are a striking force for the team and strong supporters, and I hope that we will be up to the responsibility and make them happy,” said Wesam.

Al Sadd player Hashem Ali said, “The next match is very important for us. We at Al Sadd play every match in order to win and get three points.

“Our focus is only on facing Al Shamal in order to achieve victory and after that we will begin preparing for the AFC Champions League match, which we also seek to win.”
