Al Wakrah coach Marquez Lopez spoke to the media ahead of their 2023-2024 season Expo Stars League Week 4 match against Al Markhiya.

“A strong match awaits us against a good team, which is Al Markhiya, who have a distinguished group of players in all departments of the game, be they foreign professionals or nationals, and we also have competent players, so the struggle will be strong for the three points.

“I focused on my team’s preparations for this game in particular and for the rest of the league matches in general, and I realize that the league will stop again after two matches, but we are dealing according to the circumstances available to us.

“We strive to resume the series of victories to remain in the first positions in the ranking table, and we realize that this goal will not be achieved except by making the utmost efforts possible and showing the highest levels of focus,” said Marquez.

Al Wakrah player Khaled Munir said, “Adhering to the coach’s instructions is the first way to achieve victory in this match, and I hope that we will be successful and score the three points so that we can return to the top four.

“Al Wakrah performed at good levels before the league’s break, so it is natural for us to fear the negative impact of it, but we worked very hard with determination during the past days in order to return from the break better than we were.”
