Al Shamal coach Poya Asbaghi spoke to the media ahead of their 2023-2024 season Expo Stars League Week 21 match against Al Sadd.

“Although we have guaranteed ourselves a place in next season’s top flight, we are still looking for the largest possible number of points in the two matches remaining for us in order to be in the best possible ranking in the table at the end of the season.

“A difficult match awaits us against a big team like Al Sadd, who are at the top of the league, but that will not prevent us from giving our utmost to achieve the best possible result. We will continue the good levels that the team has presented in most of the league rounds this season,” said Asbaghi.

Al Shamal player Jassim Mohammed Al Muhairi said, “A difficult game awaits us against a large team that includes players at the highest level, but we look forward to giving our best to achieve the desired result.

“The players have the desire to end the current season in the best possible way and in a way that reflects the good performances and results provided by the team throughout the league rounds.”
