Al Shamal coach Poya Asbaghi spoke to the media ahead of their 2023-2024 season Expo Stars League Week 15 match against Muaither.

“Facing Muaither will be difficult for the two teams who are fighting to move away from the danger zone in the table, and their circumstances are very similar. Therefore, both sides are looking forward to winning and getting the three points.

“We are coming from the match against Al Rayyan, in which we performed well, but we did not get the desired result that suits what we presented. Therefore, we will try to achieve our goal in the next match, in which I hope that we will show the same confidence as we did in the last match against Al Rayyan.

“Victory will be our goal in the match and we expect it to be strong at a physical level between the two teams,” said Asbaghi.

Al Shamal player Mowafak Awad said, “Our goal is victory and three points, which is the same goal that Muaither play for, to escape from the danger zone in the league table.

“We hope that success will be with us and that the good levels we present will be translated into good results that will benefit the team in our journey in the league championship.”
