Al Shamal coach Hisham Zahid spoke to the media ahead of their 2022-2023 season QNB Stars League Week 12 match against Al Rayyan.

“The match against Al Rayyan will be difficult and of course we seek a positive result especially after the loss to Al Duhail in the last round.

“What increases the difficulty of the match is the position of Al Rayyan in the table and their serious endeavour to move up the table. Al Rayyan are a great team and their ambitions are of course great. We hope that their comeback will not be at the expense of Al Shamal and that requires great focus on our part to achieve the desired result.

“Our players feel the big responsibility on them and realize the importance of achieving a positive result, for our loyal fans as well,” said Hisham Zahid.

Al Shamal player Mohammed Al Jabri said, “A difficult match against Al Rayyan, but we are ready after we trained seriously over the past week.

“We will go into the match to win and collect the three points, which requires focus from the first minute until the last minute. That will not be easy considering the strength of the competitors, who also seek to progress in the table.”
