Qatar SC coach Helio Sousa spoke to the media ahead of his team’s 2023-2024 season Expo Stars League Week 11 match against Al Duhail.

“We always focus on ourselves and what we can do and maintain the good things we have achieved, and we try to exploit our capabilities, especially since all matches will be difficult, like the last one against Muaither. If we look at the statistics, they are all in our favour and despite that we were able to win in the last moments.

“We will enter every match with the aim of achieving victory and I believe that Al Duhail benefited from the recent victory over Iranian side Persepolis in the AFC Champions League, where some players were given the opportunity and they also gained great confidence. Therefore, they prepared well to face us and we know the difficulty of the match, but we always strive to win.

“My goal is to develop and always try to achieve victory. We are working to prepare the team to appear in the best way in all matches, and when I started with the club we were in the last positions in the league, and now we are in a better position and we are seeking to score points and get closer to advanced positions, and gaining confidence from match to match,” said Sousa.

Qatar SC player Bruno Tabata said, “Facing Al Duhail in the Expo Stars League will be difficult, especially since they are one of the strong teams that always win championships, and we strive to give off our best and come out with a positive result and advance in the standings.

“The team is in high spirits after the recent victory over Muaither, especially since we were able to come back against a strong team with high capabilities, and I believe that we must always believe in our abilities until the last minute.

“The next match is always the most important for us and we are working to prepare for it vigorously and try to be fully prepared for all matches in the same way and work to improve. For my part, I try to add and give confidence to my fellow players and every player has an important role in the match.”

“My experience is good and my impressions are positive, especially since I was not a big follower of the league, but I knew some of the clubs, and I was surprised by the high level of competition in the tournament, and when I learned that there was a possibility of moving to a club like Qatar SC, I did. I watched some matches and I see that the team has great potential and this helps us improve our position in the league through continuous hard work.”
