Al Khor coach Mehdi Nafti spoke to the media ahead of their 2024-2025 season Ooredoo Stars League Week 18 match against Al Rayyan.

“Everyone knows the difficulty of the situation and we are playing for the three points against Al Rayyan and this is the thinking of all the players, so we will not waste time thinking about the rest of the teams and their results and we have to focus on ourselves and play to win the match.

“We are in a difficult situation now and we cannot think about whether Al Rayyan have taken enough rest as they played two days ago, and perhaps this may be an additional advantage for us in the last minutes of the match, but it is not considered the thing that we will focus on.

“In many matches, we play better than our competitors, but each match has a different story. I think that in the last 6 matches we could have won at least 3 matches, and this is the case in football and we must be strong in all aspects, we need to create many opportunities to win,” said Mehdi Nafti.

Al Khor player Yasin Abdullah said, “We know very well that our situation is difficult at this stage of the season, but as players we realize the huge responsibility on our shoulders. The Al Rayyan match is very important for us and we will enter it with only one goal, which is to win. We will not give up until the last breath in the league championship, and we will fight in every remaining match.

“We prepared well for the Al Rayyan match and the atmosphere in training during the holy month of Ramadan was positive and helped us give our best. We are determined to achieve the three points and appear in the best possible way in the upcoming rounds, and we will do everything we can to stay in the league.”
