Al Sadd coach Juan Manuel Lillo (Juanma) spoke to the media ahead of their 2022-2023 season QNB Stars League Week 16 match against Al Sailiya.

“Although Al Sailiya are not currently in the advanced positions in the table, we must pay great attention to their strengths, focus on the match and play with caution.

“It will be a difficult match like any other game and we must be at full strength and focus in order to collect the three points.

“Regardless of the unexpected loss against Al Ahli in Week 15, we achieved a series of victories in the league and in Qatar Cup, so we will continue to work and build on it in order to achieve more victories.

“About the joining of Moroccan Ayoub El Kaabi in the team, I would say we always welcome anyone who can help the team. It is better to talk about the new player after we got to know each other while working together in the team.

“At the moment I can say that since he came from a competitive league like the Turkish League, we are optimistic that he will be able to help us and make an addition,” said Juanma.

Al Sadd player Hashem Ali said, “The next match is very important for us as with every remaining match in the league and getting the three points is crucial for our team.

“After every match, we always focus on the next match. We will see what lies ahead and maybe we can fight for the title, but for now we're going step by step and match by match.”
