Al Rayyan coach Nicholas Cordova spoke to the media ahead of their 2022-2023 season QNB Stars League Week 16 match against Umm Salal.

“The Umm Salal match is very important and difficult, and we studied the opponents well. We know that it is a dangerous team in counter-attacks, and it is an important game for us and we consider it as six points. The difference between Al Rayyan and Umm Salal is two points and we can expand the difference to five points. We must prepare in the best way to be ready to win.

“We have seen a great development for the team since the return of international players and the joining of new foreign professionals, and there is an improvement in performance and results.

“Our goal is to get out of the current situation, advance in the table for the best possible position and collect the largest number of points. Two very important games and our goal is to do well,” said Cordova.

Al Rayyan player Al Makki Mohsen said, “We are preparing well for the Umm Salal match and we focus on the strengths and weaknesses of the opposing team.

“The Umm Salal match is considered as six points and in the event of victory, the result will be good. Our team is able to achieve victory and move away from the last positions.”
